One of Online Property Auctions quirkier sales, this delightful property really could be your dream home for a lot less than you might expect. Our vendor, Andrew Mellon, is a renowned Scottish chef who has spent years travelling the world for work – take a little glimpse into his lifestyle and enjoy it for yourself with his wonderfully designed, smart and efficient kitchen which features upcycled British Airways carts, cabin windows and video screens which replay landings into some of the chef’s favourite airports! Below that you’ll find a small bathroom, and alongside it, a second room which could easily be turned into a small bunk room. But for an even better deal, you could get your hands on this one bedroom flat in the village of Innellan, next to Dunoon, and make your holiday home a lifetime investment. With a guide price of only £23,000, less than the average price of a used caravan at Hunters Quay Holiday Village only seven miles away, this is an incredible opportunity for a quiet holiday bolthole for a bargain. Prices for caravans at Hunters Quay start from £39,995 for a used two-bedroom and stretch all the way to £125,000 for a higher end model. Adding on site fees and the fact that the average length of time a caravan can last before needing replaced being only 10-20 years, and you may be starting to worry about the cost of your new hideaway. An open plan living room/kitchen with fitted units and appliances lining the left wall. Of course, that’s not to say that there aren’t people who are happy to pay for a caravan, if that’s the holiday home they want and they know they’ll get more than enough use out of it. But if you’re looking for a second home you can consider an investment, then look no further than Thornwood Lane, Innellan. This ground floor flat has an open plan living room/kitchen with fitted units and appliances lining the left wall, and an exposed stone feature wall complete with an atmospheric log burner. The double bedroom to the right has a large window letting in heaps of natural light, and a built in storage cupboard. There is a recently renovated shower room and W/C branching off from the living room, as well as a small area by the front door with shelving and space for a washing machine unit. The property needs a bit of refurbishment done, reflected in the guide price, but with a bit of effort and TLC you could end up with a fantastic investment property. An exposed stone feature wall, complete with an atmospheric log burner. The flat is down a quiet lane off the Shore Road which runs along Innellan’s gorgeous coastline, giving the property the perfect position to be secluded enough for a peaceful retreat, while still enjoying views of the Firth of Clyde. Innellan is a charming village five miles south of Dunoon, with a wide range of events being hosted all year round; from theatre shows to pet shows, Halloween and Christmas events, from the South Cowal Community Festival to the Dunoon Jazz Festival. Innellan is also home to the Innellan Golf Club, with a challenging 9-hole golf course that has been described as ‘worth the green fee alone just for the views’. With the rapidly growing popularity of the ‘staycation’ holiday, you could make your money back by using the property as a holiday let with platforms like Airbnb. Innellan Golf Course, Innellan Heading to online auction on the 2nd of April, you have the chance to get your hands on a great little holiday home and lifelong investment. As we approach two years of pandemic life, and near the end of all Coronavirus restrictions, businesses are starting to get back into the swing of things; Online Property Auctions Scotland Ltd are no exception. Created at the end of 2019 and spending its formative years in lockdown, it’s been no easy feat to grow the company to where it is today. Working entirely from their homes for the first few months of the company, Director George Douglas and Head of Marketing Mark Oliver strived to develop the business against the abnormal pressures 2020 brought. Now, in the early months of 2022, the company is miles ahead and growing every day. Navigating between working from home, office working, hiring and training new employees and various COVID restrictions, 2021 was certainly not an easy one for this company. But perseverance and hard graft has led to the company facilitating the sale of over £5.5 million worth of property throughout the year. One of the most notable sales of the year was a derelict villa in Bridge of Weir, Johnstone which had a guide price of £195,000. The auction culminated in a frenzied bidding war in the final minutes of the auction and ended up reaching an impressive £313,000 after over 80 bids. Detached Villa, Johnstone Road, Bridge of Weir; Sold August 2021 Another remarkable sale was that of the telephone exchange in Killin, Perthshire; a small former BT exchange building (measuring only 8.7×2.3m) surpassed everyone’s expectations when it sold for £83,000 in a special solo auction, with a guide price of only £15,000. The astounding sale garnered interest from multiple media...
